Brown Sugar - Carmel - Golden Honey shades. We waited until just after the first frost to cut these allowing them to take on these beautiful golden honey brown shades. Medium & Large heads appropriate for crafting & wedding work. Designers love these for areas where Earth Tones are a dominate theme.~ These are favorites for Christmas Trees. Enhancing several themes Victorian ~ Country ~ Lodge ~ Woodland Flowers From at least 3 to 6" Across with very short or no stems*Naturally grown - Air DriedNot Artificial silk flowers*Alive & Growing until the recent Fall 2008 harvest began*Nature's Own Colors - No Paint EnhancementsPhotographed Dried outside in natural sunlight on a crisp fall day. History of These Flowers: As the days get shorter, the dwindling hours of sunlight usher in crisp cool evenings and gilded Harvest Moons that nudge Mother Nature to spend her last burst of energy for her final magical creations before winter closes in. A dazzling display of leaves changing from placid green to exciting deep royal hues colors the hillsides. She sets the romantic shades of Hydrangeas and prepares them for cutting so we can echo this season's enjoyment of God's bountiful crop all year round. Our beautiful valley is at it's richest when the last of these blooms turn to delicate hues of deep ivory, cinnamon-rose, and veiled sage green. We watch them grow for months, and wait for the perfect weather to harvest. Cut them too early and they shrivel up. We waited to cut these until just after the first frost to give them these golden brown shades . Harvested from old antique Hydrangea trees in the Heart of Pennsylvania Amish Dutch Country deeply removed from road dust, pesticides, and the harsh chemicals & pollutants of modern environment. Enjoy them in their natural state just as they were 100 years ago in a simpler life. We found the largest trees yielding the longest stems and the purest colors to savor and prepare for permanent inside enjoyment. After the morning dew has dried they are carefully cut and carried home on large screens. The leaves are stripped off the stems, and they are bundled with twine and hung from rafters to dry safely away from direct light and harmful winds. This is the old fashioned way - like Grandma did for years - and even though it's the slow way - it assures long life and the best preservation. Care of These Flowers: We ask that you unpack them very carefully.Remove your flowers from the box individually by placing your hands under them to lift each one out. Even though they have been 'layered' in when packing, expect some normal shedding during shipping. After arranging, keeping them in one location will prevent further shedding that is caused by jousting them around. Displaying them in a place away from direct heat & sunlight will help preserve their condition & color as well. Feel free to cut the stems to the lengths you need when arranging. These will hold their shape for many years. After about a year, their color will begin to change to a darker golden tan color. Other Options:Some growers recommend a light spray coat of an inexpensive Clear Spray Varnish or cheap hairspray to extend life, keep them from falling, and make them easier to dust. For craft applications they can be over-sprayed with any color of Floral Color Spray to further enhance them to match wedding or decorator needs. Also are beautiful when dusted or sprayed with glitter for holiday accents. Payment & Shipping:We accept Paypal Please use calculator for shipping including delivery confirmation. We charge for weight of box. Insurance available. Although we take every precaution to assure your purchase arrives in tact, extreme handling by the post office can cause hidden damage.
